CSI: Crime Scene Investigation English Review
Autor: ComputerGames
When I was little I wanted to be a detective. I don’t really know if it was because of Colombo and his series or because of Sherlock Holmes books but this kind of activity seemed so mysterious and attractive that marked me for life. I was imagining myself with that torn coat, a cigarette between my fingers – I’ve known since I was a kid I’d become a heavy smoker – and a naive face just like Colombo’s. Maybe this is why I attended the Law School. I even graduated too. LOL! Although I knew right from the start I’d probably never practice what I learn there I was attracted by the idealism of the legislative system and through all those boring classes I was fortunate enough to learn some Criminology. We say around here that hope dies only in the end but know it dies right from the start because Crime Scene Investigation transpires superficiality all over it which frankly must make you stay away of it. Here’s why!
This game is one of the most stubborn I’ve ever met. It’s quite an adventure to start it and load a save file. Why? Because you’ll never know if you’re going to succeed or not. Just like in Twilight Zone this game messes your save files exactly when you don’t expect this to happen. Or maybe you want to reload one of the five cases present in the game. I’d say you’d better not…try that. Greed is expensive around here. There are just five cases as I’ve already mentioned and this is maybe why it took me just 2 hours to complete the game. You play the part of a new intern at the Las Vegas Crime Lab and along with the veterans of this institution you’ll have to solve all of them. The first three are independent with no link between them but the last two will be finally tied to the first murder case you got so in the end you’ll uncover the big “conspiracy” surrounding you.
In the end of each case your strong and weak points are counted. What I don’t understand here is why consulting with your partner is considered a weak spot and because of it your overall evaluation score goes down. Why did they give me a partner? Maybe during the first case I needed one because I was just getting used to the game but after that why? Am I just dumb and not able to browse through the locations available? Wait, it’s more. Your partner has the horrible quality of concluding everything for you. I want to compare two hair samples, he immediately says they are identical, I want to compare two finger prints, he immediately tells me what to do if the result is positive, I have to interview a guard and he tells me I must interview that guard. This game really thinks I’m stupid. I’m not stupid, I’m just pissed off. What more disturbing is that during his “observations” you cannot surf through the menus because they are blocked.
