Factions introduced a new PvP mode called Alliance Battles and Nightfall now allows us to take heroes into PvP battles as well. If you’re thinking henchmen battles, you’re not that far off from the truth. Even though it’s a fun way to play PvP, sometimes it can be a little difficult to watch what you’re doing and at the same time keep an eye out for your heroes, since losing one of them can tip the scales of a battle. Especially since the AI isn’t too good, so superior micromanagement will make the difference between a novice and an experienced player. All round though, the Hero vs. Hero Arena mode is an interesting way to play PvP by all players, especially if there aren’t too many guilds members online.
Summing it up, Guild Wars Nightfall once again proves the viability of Arena.net’s and NCsoft’s “no monthly fee” strategy coupled with the constant release of new chapters for the game. Content wise, Guild Wars Nightfall is an excellent purchase for the Guild Wars community, but also for those who want to see why Guild Wars is so popular with MMORPG players who prefer competitive PvP gameplay above all else.
