Even though EA Sports releases a new FIFA title every year, this time the stakes are higher than ever, since EA is trying to outshine Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer, which has become the main rival for the American publisher in the football sim market. For this reason, FIFA 07 brings many new features by comparison with the previous titles of the series, and although you can easily see that some of the new aspects of the game (especially gameplay related ones) are borrowed from the competition, EA adds its part of work and shifts from copying to innovating.

As I said, in comparison with the previous titles, FIFA 07 brings more innovations and fixes for the series. The first thing that you will notice is, of course, the visual aspect. As you would expect, the graphics where substantially improved. And even though the “sprite quality” characters are still present – spectators, camera crews near the field (they even tend to disappear if the camera angle isn’t good for them) or the security forces - the game manages to look better on the field.
