You don’t know how it feels like when they tell you something like “You reviewed The Longest Journey, so you do Dreamfall too”. I mean, come on, it was a long while back, maybe too long for me to remember something. Don’t get me wrong, I really did want to play Dreamfall, but I didn’t like being forced to. It’s like fate. No matter what you do, you still have to do it. So, I played and bit by bit, it all came back to me. I don’t really believe in fate. I think that every person has the right to take his or her own decisions. Believe me when I tell you this. In what concerns Dreamfall, you don’t have any rights, you just have to play it.
After twelve hours of gameplay my wife hates me so much that she went out without saying a word, leaving me in front of my computer, writing this review. I knew this would happen and I accepted it. It’s again called fate, but there is something in our lives that makes us hope things will get better. It’s called Faith. Well, that’s what Dreamfall is all about. Of course, I could have begun with the typical cliché every reviewer does and try to spoil a few things from the storyline. I won’t do it and I think you don’t need to know that in order to appreciate, buy and play Dreamfall. It really doesn’t matter if you played The Longest Journey or not, but it’s better if you did. It will not answer any questions, but it will help you identify the right ones. You see, Dreamfall does not answer questions, but rises even more than The Longest Journey did. In fact, it’s the longest journey we’ve ever played, so that’s how it should be. The story is so complex that it needs sequels badly. Prequels could also help and from what rumors are floating around, both a prequel and a sequel are planned.
