Deep Silver announces the international launch date for RPG Risen [02-Jul-2009 17:34]
Deep Silver announced that the international launch date for fantasy RPG Risen was established for October 2.
According to Deep Silver Brand Manager Daniel Oberlerchner, the game already entered the beta phase, and all the dialogues have already been recorded. Risen is being developed by Piranha Bytes, creators of the Gothic series, without being linked to it.

CCP announces November launch date for EVE: The Burning Life, a novel based on EVE Online [02-Jul-2009 15:56]
CCP Games informed us that the novel EVE: The Burning Life, based on the universe of space MMO EVE Online, will be published in November 2009 via partnerships with Tor Books and Orion Books.
The author of the book is Hjalti Danielsson, currently working as CCP's main creative writer; he is responsible for much of the background story of New Eden, and he wrote over 70 short stories and plays based on it.
The story recounted in The Burning Life's 400 pages will complement the one from the game, the same way as EVE: The Empyrean Age (written by Tony Gonzales) did in 2008.

Russian studios BIART announced they will postpone the launch of squad-based shooter U-WARS for the next year, work on the project having started in 2007.
The story of U-WARS will take place in the near future, will have a 2-year span, and will focus on a conflict between the US / NATO and North Korea, China, Syria and Iran.
In U-WARS, players wil be able to control an elite squad during missions both on land and underwater. The PC version will make use of the NVIDIA PhysX technology.

Eidos Interactive announced they will launch this month two new DLCs for strategy game Battlestations: Pacific, and both will be available via Games for Windows LIVE
The Mustang Pack will be launched on July 2 and will cost 160 points, while the Carrier Battles Map Pack will follow on July 23, priced at 800 points.
The Mustang Pack will allow players to customize both their single-player and multiplayer battles, also implementing several new units such as: the P-51 Mustang fighter (used mostly as bomber escort), Alaska Class warships (referred to as “cruiser killers”) and the heavy Super Yamato Class (which, in reality, never left the drawing board).
The Carrier Battles Map Pack offers four new maps for all five multiplayer modes avaialble in Battlestations: Pacific. This DLC adds these war theaters: the Midway Islands, the Philippines, the Leyte Gulf and the Aleutian Islands.

Peter Sokal, id Software Community Manager, unveiled on the official forums the minimum system requirements for first-person shooter Wolfenstein which will be launched on August 4.
- CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 3.2 GHz or AMD Athlon(TM) 64 3400+ processor
- RAM: 1GB RAM
- Video Card: 256MB NVIDIA(R) Geforce(R) 6800 GT or ATI Radeon(TM) X800
- Sound Card: 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
- HDD Space: 8GB (Plus an additional 800MB for Windows swap file)
- Media: 100% Microsoft Windows compatible DVD-ROM drive
- Internet: Broadband connection and service required for multiplayer
In the new Wolfenstein, players will enter once again the role of agent BJ Blazkowicz in order to fight against Nazi troops and a mysterious occult force, while the multiplayer mode will come with different classes and a team-based gameplay.
The game's soundtrack is written by Bill Brown, the one responsible for the background music of Return to Castle Wolfenstein, as well as several TV shows and movies, such as Any Given Sunday, Finding Forrester, Ali and CSI: NY.
